2023 Service & Outreach
Outreach: February 9, 2023, members from our team took our 2022 season bot, “Ford Flex”, to our local upper elementary school for their Activity Night. We set up a station where we could safely demonstrate Ford’s capabilities. We allowed interested kids to roll a ball to Ford to “play catch” and gave them the opportunity to try guiding Ford’s turret with the vision stick. We also shut Ford down sometimes to allow kids to get close enough for us to point out and explain Ford’s finer details. We had computers on hand to display our website, the FIRST information video, and video taken from the 2022 competition year. We also distributed stickers and pins.
Outreach: February 10, 2023, members of the Dreadbots took our 2022 season bot, “Ford Flex” to our Early Elementary STEAM night where we allowed interested kids to roll a ball to Ford to “play catch” and gave them the opportunity to try guiding Ford’s turret with the vision stick. We also shut Ford down sometimes (to change the battery and) to allow kids to get close enough for us to point out and explain Ford’s finer details. We had computers on hand to display our website, the FIRST information video, and video taken from the 2022 competition year. We also distributed stickers and pins.
